About Me

Who Am I?

Hi, I’m your fellow Invisible Illness Buddy. I live with a body that doesn’t always cooperate—chronic pain, autoimmune inflammation, gastroparesis, small fiber neuropathy, and god knows what else, oh and also bipolar disorder which I have learnt to manage fairly well. Over the years, I’ve had to learn resilience the hard way: but especially over the last 1.5 years, I am trying hard re-learn resilience while navigating cancelled plans, doctors who don’t always believe me, complete loss of any relationship with food and mornings that start with exhaustion before the day even begins.

Why I Write:

I have created Living Beyond Symptoms as both a refuge and a resource. This is where I tell the truth about invisible illness—the raw confessions of what it feels like to live inside a body that betrays you. But it’s also where I translate research into plain language, because science helps us feel less alone. There’s relief in knowing that what we experience has names, causes, and explanations.

What You’ll Find Here:

Confessions: Honest, unfiltered essays about the daily realities of invisible illness.

Research Simplified: Science made human—digestible insights on fatigue, pain, brain fog, and resilience.

Living Guides: Practical tips for pacing, navigating healthcare, and surviving flare days.

Phoenix Essays: Reflections on meaning, growth, and legacy in the midst of struggle.

Who I Write For:

This blog is for anyone living with invisible illness, caring for someone who is, or simply trying to understand what resilience looks like when life doesn’t go as planned.

If you’ve ever felt unseen, dismissed, or felt like your illness defined you, I want you to know: you are not alone here. I don’t have all the answers, but I do have stories, research, and a stubborn belief that resilience can live even in broken places.

Welcome to Living Beyond Symptoms. I’m glad you’re here. Lets navigate craziness together.
